Latitude 64 Opto Ice Orbit Ballista
1
The Latitude 64 Opto Ice Orbit Ballista is a fast, overstable distance driver in Latitude 64's marbled Opto Ice blend, one of the highest speed molds Latitude 64 makes and a disc that needs real arm speed to show what it can do.
Flight Numbers: 14 / 5 / -1 / 3
Opto Ice is a premium, translucent plastic with a swirled, frosted look, so each disc genuinely comes out a little different. It is stiff out of the box, holds an edge well against rock and tree hits, and keeps its overstable shape for a long time before it starts to turn over.
This is a disc that punishes a slow release. Thrown without enough speed it stalls out early and turns into a roller instead of finishing its line, which is exactly what newer players run into when they grab it as a first fast driver. Get enough speed behind it and it holds a long, flat glide before fading hard at the end, the way a Nuke or Daedalus does.
Big arms and power throwers get the most out of it, using it for max distance tee shots and headwind holes where a slower disc would flip and burn out. If your drives are still under 300 feet, a slower speed driver will teach you more than this one will.
Need something with a little more glide and control at lower speeds? The Latitude 64 Opto Ballista is the same shape in Latitude 64's standard Opto plastic. Want a proven name in the same overstable speed class? The Innova Star Destroyer flies a similar hard-fading line. Check out the rest of our overstable distance drivers.
