    Kastaplast Reko Review

The Reko is a classic "point and shoot" putter that is equally effective for drives, upshots, and putts. A comfortable hand feel is the most important quality for precision shots, and Kastaplast is well-known for having the best plastic in the game. We have plenty of Rekos in stock and for sale, so read this Kastaplast Reko review to get the lowdown on this versatile disc.

    Kastaplast Reko Plastics

Disc aficionados revere Kastaplast for its comfortable yet durable plastic blends. Every company claims it has the highest-quality plastic, but in the case of Kastaplast, it may be true.

    • K1: Combines exceptional durability with a soft and grippy feel. While many premium plastics have a stiff and slick texture, Kastaplast threads the needle to produce an ultra-tough blend that maintains some flex and a comfortable hand feel.
    • K1 Soft: A gummy and flexible blend with exceptional grip in all weather conditions.
    • K1 Glow: A bright and long-lasting glow that will stay lit for several holes of night golf.
    • K3: The "base" plastic blend. It is less durable but has a superior grip. K3 is the ideal plastic for a "putting" putter, and the neutral Reko is a dead straight flyer in this blend.

    Kastaplast Reko Flight Numbers

    • Speed: 3
    • Glide: 3
    • Turn: 0
    • Fade: 1

This well-balanced putter has enough high-speed stability to absorb immediate power and the low-speed stability to finish with a subtle hyzer. It'll fight back to flat on drifting anhyzer lines, allowing for pinpoint accuracy on floaty approaches. The Reko is a reliable option on the green for both push and spin putters, offering a straight floaty flight well past 50 feet.

    Dimensions

    • Diameter: 21.2cm
    • Height: 1.8cm
    • Rim Depth: 1.4cm
    • Rim Width: 1.0cm

The flat-topped Reko has a sleek profile. The inner rim is shallow, while the evenly rounded outer edge provides balanced flight characteristics. This aerodynamic shape helps boost the speed rating up to 3. A small bead is under the rim, but it is hardly noticeable. This adds up to a comfortable grip for players of all sizes, styles, and preferences.

    History

When Kastaplast debuted the Reko in 2015, it joined the popular Berg in the upstart company's putter lineup. While the Berg has a unique shape and flight, the Reko is a traditional putter mold. It is an excellent introduction to the Kastaplast brand for players of all skill levels. For players with extra power, the more stable Reko-X released in 2022.

    Skill Level Recommendations

    • Novice: Excellent first disc for brand new players. The Reko's shallow hand feel is ideal for juniors.
    • Intermediate/Advanced: Fantastic neutral putter that doubles as a finesse approach disc. For best results, carry a K1 for throwing and a K3 for putting.
    • Pro: Most Kastaplast pros use the Reko as their primary putter, and the slow and steady Berg as a stable utility disc.
