Thought Space Athletics Synapse Plastics

Thought Space uses MVP Disc Sports' facilities for manufacturing, and their discs have the same high-quality plastic blends.

• Ethos: A slick, transparent, and very durable blend. Similar to MVP's Proton plastic. The Synapse will be most overstable in this plastic. 
• Aura: Softer and more flexible than Ethos, but still relatively stiff and durable. Has a cloudy or opaque appearance. Similar to MVP's flagship Neutron plastic.
• Nebula: A "burst" pattern design available in both Ethos and Aura plastic. Discs are more flexible and grippy in this blend. 
• Ethereal: The softest, grippiest, and most flexible blend. Similar to MVP's Plasma plastic. Discs will break in quicker and fly a bit more understable in this blend.

Every company wants a flagship distance driver, and the Synapse is Thought Space's equivalent to the Innova Destroyer, Discraft Zues, or Discmania DD3. High-powered arms will access the -1.5 turn and 5 glide, while players with average power can expect closer to 0 turn and 4 glide, at least until the disc gets more beat-in. 

When it hits the "sweet spot" for your power level, the Synapse is an all-around workhorse in the high-speed driver category. It excels at a wide variety of shot shapes while always finishing with an aggressive hyzer fade, even when thrown into stiff headwinds. This is the kind of disc you can grip and rip with confidence.

The Synapse has the wide and deep rim common amongst overstable distance drivers. It has a flatter top than other discs in its class, making for a very comfortable forehand grip. Otherwise, it is a standard overstable workhorse that is best for experienced throwers. 

History

Released in 2022, the Synapse is Thought Spaces's first pro-level overstable maximum distance driver. Still a newcomer to the disc golf market, Thought Space continues to build its lineup and gain notoriety. They've made an immediate splash with their artful stamp designs and consistently beautiful plastic blends. 

Skill Level Recommendations

• Novice: Beginners will struggle to control such a fast and stable disc. 
• Intermediate: An overstable utility disc that starts as a beefy meathook but gradually develops more turn and glide as it breaks in. 
• Advanced: All-around workhorse in the high-speed category. Power arms will turn the Synapse in the mid-flight and take full advantage of its extended glide phase. 
• Pro: Pros Matt Bell and Thomas Gilbert have special "signature" editions of the Synapse.
