The PD "Power Driver" is a pro-level overstable driver. With excellent high-speed torque resistance and an ultra-reliable low-speed fade, the PD has enough stability to hold up to the most powerful arms in the game. This Discmania PD review covers one of the most predictable discs we have in stock and for sale.
Discmania splits its production between three different factories. The PD is part of the "Originals" line and gets molded up in their new facility in Sweden.
The predictable PD holds the line of release and always finishes with a hard hyzer fade. Power arms can access some mid-flight glide, but most players will use the PD's overstability to shape tight forced flexes, hard-turning hyzers, and low skip shots. This is the ultra-reliable driver that every serious player needs in the bag.
This mold has some variance, with the hard C-Line plastic being very overstable and the softer S-Line offering more workability and late-flight glide potential. A well-seasoned S-Line PD will get some high-speed turn and a more forward-penetrating finish. This is the kind of mold that improves with age and familiarity.
The PD's rim is wider than a fairway driver, but not as thick as a distance driver. It sits right on the cusp between the two categories, offering extra speed without sacrificing control. The height of the dome depends on the plastic blend, with the C-Line being flatter and more low profile and the S-Line and Horizon being taller with more glide potential.
As with all of Discmania's "Originals" line, the PD was previously manufactured by Innova. When Discmania ended its relationship with Innova in 2019 they kept the name "PD" but were forced to re-create the disc. The new version released in late 2021 offers the familiar overstable flight characteristics that made the PD famous.
