Millennium Discs was founded in 1995 by two disc golf Hall Of Famers, Harold Duvall and John Houck, focusing on premium plastics that would perform consistently well. In the 90s, Millennium paved the way for superior plastic blends, quickly forcing other manufacturers to follow suit due to popularity.
Currently, Millennium is owned by the Vahsholtz family, and Discs Unlimited took over the distribution and operation side of the business in 2011, based in Kansas. Wondering where to buy Millennium discs? You're in the right place!
Millennium was the first disc brand to label their runs of discs, and now some of these batches have become super popular in the collectible markets. Millennium has had a long history of creating a lineup of discs to fill every slot and are utilized by beginners and professionals alike.
Their first disc, the Omega SuperSoft putter, showed the world what could happen when high-tech plastics and industry-leading design collide. Some of the first teams to throw Millenium were from Finland, and the Omega's gummy plastic was perfect for the rugged and chilly conditions.
Curious about the other Millennium plastics? They've been a long-time molding partner of Innova, so you can expect the same attention to detail. Here's our rundown:
Millennium (also known as Standard plastic): the OG plastic that gives players precise grip and strong durability.
SuperSoft: As its name implies, it is soft, gummy, and extremely grippy.
Delta-T (DT): Millennium's firmer baseline plastic with good grip and high durability at an affordable price point.
ET: An "extra tacky" version of Standard plastic with extreme grip and durability.
Lunar: Millennium's glow-in-the-dark blend.
Color Glow: This plastic was made for super bright daytime play and glows in the dark.
Quantum: Considered the most durable plastic with a smooth feel and a translucent appearance.
Quantum Zero-G (known as "Zero-Gravity" ): Millennium's lightweight class of plastics comes in 130-164g weights. Discs that weigh between 130g and 139g can float in water.
Sirius: The ultimate combo of superior grip and extreme durability.
After the super popular Omega hit the scene, Millennium released several high-performance drivers to the market that, to this day, are still contenders for accuracy and precision.
Some of their popular drivers include the Millennium Falcon, Calvin Heimburg Draco, Astra, JLS, Polaris, Gregg Barsby Scorpius, and Quasar. The Aurora MS gets an extra shoutout, too, as one of the most accurate straight-flying midranges today.
They also have a wide array of putters, approach discs, midranges, and fairway drivers.
Team Millennium is a roster of pros competing in worldwide championships and has Gregg Barsby as their team captain. Millennium is also known for hosting the annual World's Biggest Disc Golf Weekend, which seeks to introduce more people to the game of disc golf and spread interest while raising money for various non-profit charities.
