Discmania Rainmaker Review
The Rainmaker is a neutral putter designed with the help of Discmania's biggest star: Eagle McMahon. While he's well-known for his massive power shots, McMahon's effortless spin putt is one of the smoothest strokes in the game. This Discmania Rainmaker review provides a brief overview of this popular putter in stock and for sale.
Discmania Rainmaker Plastics
Discmania splits its production between three different factories. The Rainmaker is part of the "Creator Series," and is manufactured at the company's Swedish facility along with the "Originals" line. Currently, the Rainmaker is only available in D-Line Flex 3 and Flex 3 Glow.
- D-Line Flex 3: Discmania's base D-Line plastic has a textured and grippy feel similar to Innova DX, Discraft Putter Line, and MVP Electron. The company rates D-Line on a Flex scale, with 1 being softer and gummer, and 3 being hard and stiff. It is not the most durable blend and is best utilized for putting only.
Discmania Rainmaker Flight Numbers
- Speed: 2
- Glide: 3
- Turn: 0
- Fade: 0.5
The Rainmaker is a less stable version of the popular Discmania P2. While it performs well as a thrower, most players use it primarily for putts. It has a reliable straight flight inside of 30 feet and some extra glide potential on longer bids at the basket. Where other putters are hyzering out early, the Rainmaker makes an extra forward push toward the chains.
- Diameter: 21.2cm
- Height: 2.0cm
- Rim Depth: 1.5cm
- Rim Width: 1.1cm
Most often described as a shallower P2, the Rainmaker has a very similar design to the Innova Aviar and the Latitude 64 Hope. It has a thin and beadless rim with a gentle beveled edge, and while it's not a deep-dish putter, it's also not a low-profile one either. The Rainmaker has standard design features that match its neutral flight characteristics.
Discmania debuted the Rainmaker in 2022. On the strength of Eagle McMahon's star power, the disc sold quickly. The company has since ramped up production and made the Rainmaker easier to acquire. It joins the Cloudbreaker as part of McMahon's "Creator's Series." Both molds are specially tailored to McMahon's play style.
