Discraft Undertaker Plastics

Discraft has produced the Undertaker in just about all their plastics. The following blends are the most popular. 

• Z Line: A stiff, slick, translucent, and very durable blend. You can expect less turn and a stronger fade in this plastic. 
• Titanium: A very stiff blend that has maximum durability. This is the most high-speed stable version of the Undertaker.
• ESP: Solid durability but with a more flexible and softer hand feel. Discs generally fly close to their posted fight numbers in ESP.
• FLX: A flexible and gummy version of premium plastics. Discs have better grip and fly more understable in FLX, and an Undertaker in Z FLX or ESP FLX is fantastic for turnovers or hyzer-flips.

The Undertaker's soft turn and gentle fade make it a straight-line flyer with a reliable hyzer finish. A flat shot will yield a subtle anhyzer drift, while a slight hyzer release will flip up to flat and get a forward penetrating glide. The Undertaker is workable on a wide variety of lines, including sweeping hyzers, long-panning flex shots, and low-ceiling screamers. 

The 9-speed rating gives the Undertaker some extra distance potential in the fairway category, and power arms will be able to push it out well past 400 feet. Those with less power will find a stable driver that gets excellent glide before the predictable fade takes over. This is an excellent choice for intermediate-level players developing controlled distance.

The Undertaker has a very balanced design. Its shallow rim is wide enough to generate some extra speed, but not so thick as to feel uncomfortable in the hand. Most players will find a confident grip from both the forehand and backhand sides. It has just enough dome on the flight plate to earn some extra glide, but the Undertaker maintains an overall low profile.

History

When Discraft released it in 2016, the Undertaker was an immediate success. It soon made classic molds the Avenger and the XS obsolete. This all-around driver is currently Discraft's third most popular mold, trailing only the Buzzz and Zone. It is often compared to a slightly less stable Innova Thunderbird. 

Skill Level Recommendations

• Novice: Beginners can use the Undertaker as a stable driver with a hard fade. Try it in lower weights for more workability.
• Intermediate: Potential centerpiece of the bag. The super-versatile go-to driver that every player needs. 
• Advanced: Straight to understable control driver that is easy to manipulate on tight lines.
• Pro: Staple in the bag of many Discraft pros, including 5-time World Champions Paul McBeth and Paige Pierce. Elite arms prefer it in more stable Titanium plastic.
