Innova GStar Wraith (Reaper Edition)
3
The Innova GStar Wraith is Innova's long standing workhorse distance driver, and GStar is the flexible, grippy version of Star that Innova blends for extra durability in cold weather. The nickname stuck for a reason: this is the amateur Destroyer, and that is the right way to think about it.
Flight Numbers: 11 / 5 / -1 / 3
GStar has a gummier feel than standard Star plastic straight out of the bag, with a metallic sheen and enough flex to stay grippy when the temperature drops. It takes a beating on tree hits without losing its stability fast, and because it is friendlier to slower release speeds than Champion or Star, it is often the plastic recommended to players who find a Star Destroyer too much disc.
Thrown flat, the Wraith holds a small amount of turn before settling into a straight flight and finishing with a dependable, moderate fade instead of a hard dump. On a hyzer it fights back against turning over, which makes it reliable in a headwind. Forehand and backhand throwers both get a comfortable release off the beadless rim.
Good for an intermediate player breaking into the 350 foot range who wants controlled max distance without the speed and rim width of a true pro level driver. Beginners will find it too fast to be useful yet.
