Axiom Fission Envy
4
The Axiom Fission Envy is an overstable putt and approach disc, the same reliable Envy mold in Axiom's lightweight Fission plastic, which trades a little weight for a noticeably grippier feel than Axiom's other premium blends.
Flight Numbers: 3 / 3 / 0 / 2
Fission uses microbubble technology to cut weight out of the core, and on a beadless putter like the Envy that shows up as extra traction in the hand. It grips tacky enough for wet mornings and cold rounds, and it takes a slower beat in than Neutron, so the moderate fade holds for a long time before the disc starts to flatten out.
Release it flat and the Envy goes straight at high speed with almost no turn, then finishes with a predictable fade that shows up reliably about eighty percent of the way through the flight. That fade adds torque resistance on a full power throw, which is why it works as a driving putter for backhand and sidearm upshots as much as a putting putter inside the circle. New players get a forgiving straight flight to build confidence on; players replacing a beat in favorite get the same trusted flight in a fresh disc that still has years of life left in it.
Want the same flight in Axiom's grippiest everyday plastic? The Neutron Envy is the everyday pick for this mold. Prefer more glide and a softer feel? The Plasma Envy is worth bagging next to it. See the whole Envy lineup.
