The Axiom Proton Virus is a very understable distance driver, the least stable 9 speed in the whole Axiom and MVP lineup, and people describe it as a worn in MVP Impulse right out of the bag. Proton is the plastic to grab if you plan on using this thing as a roller, since it stiffens the disc up noticeably compared to base Neutron.

Proton is Axiom's most durable premium plastic, with a firm, slightly stiffer feel and a hard rubber-like outer rim that holds its shape well when the disc is skipping and rolling across dirt or a hard fairway. It grips fine without being tacky, and it takes years of ground contact and tree hits without going soft or losing the flight this mold is built for.

Thrown hard on a hyzer it flips to flat and keeps turning until it dumps into a roller, and a sidearm anhyzer release turns it into one of the better cut-roll options in the Axiom line. Backhand throwers with low to average arm speed get an easy S-curve turnover and real distance without forcing anything, while power throwers use it for tailwind shots, long turnovers, and rollers over hard ground when a backhand line will not work. It does not fight back much at the end, so if you need a fade heavy disc this is not it, but as a beginner-friendly turnover driver it is one of the most forgiving 9 speeds you can put in the bag.
