Axiom Balance (Neutron)
The Axiom Balance in Neutron plastic is an overstable midrange that stays flat for a long time and then finishes with a firm fade. It is one of the most torque resistant midrange discs you can put in a bag.
Flight Numbers: 5 / 4 / 0 / 3
Neutron is Axiom's premium plastic. The shallow rim is comfortable on forehand and backhand. The stock run is not much less overstable than a Pyro or a Quake, so expect it to stay overstable for a long time.
Thrown flat it holds straight longer than you would guess for a disc with this much fade, then turns left at the end. Add a touch of anhyzer and it holds that line all the way down. The shallow rim and torque resistance make it a forehand tool, especially on wooded courses where a flippy midrange gets punished. Into a headwind it stays up and finishes hard.
Best for intermediate and advanced players who want an overstable mid for controlled upshots, forehand hyzers, and wind. New players with slower arms will see it fall left quickly, so it is better treated as a specialty disc.
Want the same overstable idea with a different feel? The Axiom Plasma Prism Pyro is a close neighbor and the MVP Neutron Reactor sits right next to it in stability. Looking for less fade? The Axiom Neutron Hex is a stable, glidey midrange. See more midrange discs.
