Westside Discs Origio Northman
The Westside Discs Origio Northman is a stable 10 speed distance driver with a wider, more forgiving grip than most drivers at this speed, run here in Westside's grippy Origio Burst plastic. It is fast enough to cover ground but tame enough that a beginner can pick it up without getting burned.
Flight Numbers: 10 / 5 / -1 / 2
Origio Burst is soft and grippy compared to Westside's premium VIP line, closer in stiffness and durability to a base plastic, with a marbled color run on every disc. It is easy on the hand in cold weather and takes a beating on the fairway before the flight starts to drift, though a lighter weight Northman in this plastic will turn over faster than a heavier one as the wear adds up.
Release it flat and expect a mild right turn through the high speed part of the flight before it eases back left with a soft finish, generally flying a bit less stable than the printed numbers suggest until it settles in. On hyzer it holds the line and glides a long way before fading down gently. Newer players get a fast disc that still forgives a rough release, and intermediate throwers use it as a go to for straight drives that need a touch of natural turn without becoming a full roller.
Want more grip with a bit more turn resistance in the same speed class? The Discraft ESP Heat is worth a look. Need something that holds a longer fade at the same speed? The Innova Star Destroyer runs the overstable end of that range. Browse the rest of our stable distance drivers.
