Discmania Vapor Splice
1
The Discmania Vapor Splice is a very overstable control driver built for headwind shots and forehand utility work, now in Discmania's firmer Vapor plastic.
Flight Numbers: 9 / 3 / 0 / 4
Vapor is one of Discmania's premium blends, less tacky than Neo but noticeably more durable, and it holds this disc's heavy overstability for a long time without beating in soft. It is a good choice if you plan to throw this into trees and pavement on purpose, since that is basically the disc's job.
It flies more overstable than the numbers suggest, closer to an 11x Firebird than a fresh 9-speed control driver: fast, low glide, and hard fading. It is not a distance disc so much as a utility disc, built for anhyzer rips, overhand thumbers, and getting out of trouble around obstacles. It has real flare skip potential once it lands, which can double your distance if you plan for the lateral kick.
This is not a beginner's disc. Intermediate and advanced throwers use it for forehand rollers and short, controlled spike hyzers where the disc needs to fight out of the turn every time.
Want the same shape with more turn out of the box? The Neo Splice flies a touch less overstable fresh. Need something even faster and just as overstable? The Discraft ESP Nuke is a common next step up. Browse more in the overstable distance drivers collection.
