Fission is Axiom's entry level base plastic: lighter in the hand than Neutron or Proton, with a stiffer, less tacky feel. That lighter flight plate is what lets Axiom load the rim, and it is why the Hex punches above its stability rating even in this base line blend. It will not hold up to years of tree hits the way premium Neutron does, but it is grippy enough for practice rounds and cheap enough to keep a few in the bag.

Thrown flat it goes straight with a small fade at the end, more glidey than a Buzzz at the same speed and shallower in the hand. On a hyzer it holds the line and finishes soft, and on anhyzer it flattens out and carries before fading back. The narrow rim makes it an easy forehand throw for players who find the Buzzz awkward in that grip, and backhand throwers get the same flat, dependable release.

Good for a beginner still learning what a clean midrange release looks like, and just as useful for an advanced player who wants a placement disc for wooded, technical holes where wind and inconsistent releases are the enemy. Slower arms get the same straight line as big arms, just less of it.
