Axiom Prism Proton Soft Pyro (Champions Cup Edition)
The Axiom Pyro comes through here in Prism Proton Soft with the Champions Cup stamp, an overstable midrange built to fly the same line every time no matter how hard you throw it. Proton Soft is a grippier take on Axiom's firm Proton blend, and the Prism swirl marbles the color through the plastic.
Flight Numbers: 5 / 4 / 0 / 2.5
Proton Soft is tackier than standard Proton, which helps in cold weather and on wet mornings, and it still holds up to tree hits without going soft too fast. It beats in slower than Axiom's premium Neutron line, so the overstable flight you get on day one is close to what you will still get a season later.
Thrown flat this midrange holds a straight line with a strong, reliable fade at the finish, and it takes real power on a forehand or backhand without turning over. Some throwers find the wider rim flies more like a control driver than a typical midrange, which is part of why it handles wind so well. On a hyzer it stays locked on that line the whole way down.
Good for anyone who wants a torque resistant midrange for headwind holes or a forehand approach that will not flip. New players get a predictable fade to learn timing on, and bigger arms get a disc that will not turn over no matter how much they put into it.
