Kastaplast K1 Nord
1
The Kastaplast Nord in K1 plastic is the overstable midrange that replaced the Kaxe in the lineup, built with a squared off rim and a small bead that gives it a slightly funky look but a comfortable feel once it is in your hand.
Flight Numbers: 5 / 4 / 0 / 3
K1 is Kastaplast's flagship plastic, firm and grippy without feeling tacky, and it holds its shape well through repeated forehand releases. The Nord has a bit of dome to the flight plate, which a lot of midrange throwers like for extra confidence on a full power throw.
It flies true to its numbers, holding a straight to slightly overstable line on a flat release and fighting through wind that would push a less overstable mid off course. That torque and wind resistance make it a natural forehand disc, and it fades hard and predictably at the end of the flight rather than drifting. Intermediate and advanced players who want a dependable overstable midrange for both forehand and backhand shots get the most out of it.
Want the mold it replaced? The Kastaplast K1 Glow Kaxe is still worth throwing. Looking for a comparable overstable midrange from another brand? The Discraft Z Buzzz OS is a good match. Browse the rest of our overstable midrange discs.
