Kastaplast K1 Grym X
1
The Kastaplast K1 Grym X is the overstable version of the original Grym, built in the same grippy, Swedish-made K1 plastic. It flies in the same neighborhood as an Innova Destroyer, with the added grip K1 is known for.
Flight Numbers: 12.5 / 5 / -1 / 3
K1 stays tacky through a full round, in wet grass, cold mornings, or a sweaty summer back nine, and it doesn't slip the way some premium plastics do once your hand warms it up. It's durable enough to take real tree hits without chunking, and it beats in slowly, so the overstability you buy is close to what you'll still have a year later.
Thrown flat with real speed it holds a straight, predictable line before fading hard left, and it barely notices a strong headwind, which is exactly where this disc earns its keep. Compared to the original Grym it needs a bit more arm speed to open up, and it rewards that speed with a longer, more reliable finish.
Intermediate players with developing arm speed get a predictable, controlled driver here rather than one that turns over under pressure. Advanced players use it as their go-to crusher for high wind rounds where a stable driver would blow off line, and it's a strong forehand option for anyone who wants a hard, reliable wall.
Prefer a little more turn out of the same plastic? The Kastaplast K1 Grym is the stable version of this same mold. Want a comparable overstable distance driver from another brand? The Innova Star Destroyer flies a similar line. Browse our Grym X collection.
