Discraft Z Swirl Anax (Ledgestone)
This Ledgestone Discraft Z Swirl Anax is Paul McBeth's overstable control driver, molded in durable Z plastic with a marbled swirl look, a two foil stamp, and the Ledgestone event mark.
Flight Numbers: 10 / 6 / 0 / 3
Z Swirl keeps the full stiffness and grip of standard Z, just blended so every disc comes out with its own colorway instead of a single solid shade. It is glossy, holds an edge for years, and barely changes flight as it wears, so the fade you throw out of the box is close to the fade you get after a hundred rounds.
Give it a flat release with real speed and it holds a straight line before a strong, dependable fade at the finish, which is what makes it such a good tunnel and headwind disc. On a hyzer it will not flip up much at all, so slower arms should expect it to fade early rather than carrying the full ten speed distance. This is an intermediate to advanced driver more than a beginner's first fairway pick, and power throwers who need to fight wind or hold a hard line will get the most out of it.
Want a similar flight with a bit more glide from another brand? The Innova Star Destroyer is the usual comparison. Prefer this mold in Discraft's grippier premium plastic? The ESP Anax breaks in faster. See the rest of our overstable distance drivers.
