Discraft UV Z Raptor (Ledgestone)
The Discraft Raptor in UV Z plastic is an overstable control driver that shifts color under UV light, on top of the same flat-top, wind-cutting flight the Raptor is built around. This Ledgestone run leans hard into the color-shift look without changing anything about how the disc flies.
Flight Numbers: 9 / 4 / 0 / 3
UV Z is Discraft's stiff, durable Z blend with a UV-reactive additive mixed in, so it holds the same premium grip and long beat-in period as standard Z plastic. It takes a real season or two of throws before it loosens up even slightly from its overstable flight.
Thrown flat this Raptor never flips up, which is exactly why it shows up so often in windy-course roundups. On a forehand it holds an extreme anhyzer angle and fights out of it every time, opening up flex shots that a less overstable driver cannot do. On a hyzer it will skip hard at the finish, so plan the landing zone accordingly.
Good for advanced players with the arm speed to work an overstable 9 speed, especially anyone who plays in consistent wind. Not the disc to hand a beginner, since it fades hard fast and can get away from a slower arm before it ever flattens out.
