Axiom Plasma Crave
5
The Axiom Plasma Crave was Axiom's first fairway driver mold, and Plasma is the premium blend they build it in for players who want that dead straight flight to last. It is one of the straightest fairway drivers on the market, a slower speed disc that still gets real distance out of a controlled release.
Flight Numbers: 6.5 / 5 / -1 / 1
Plasma is dome-y and durable, with a firm, slightly grippy feel that holds its stability for a long stretch before it starts to beat in. The rim is small and shallow, so it sits comfortably for backhand or forehand and never feels like a chore to grip. New Plasma keeps this mold's stable flight true to the numbers for a lot longer than a base line plastic would.
Its low, sleek profile keeps the flight flatter than most fairway drivers, which makes it a good pick for staying under trees on tight, low canopy tee shots. Thrown flat it holds torque resistant and straight, with a small amount of turn up top before a gentle fade brings it back on line. On a mild hyzer it just holds the angle the whole way, and a nose down anhyzer will pull a bigger turn out of it before it flattens out. A beginner without much arm speed can count on a straight line out to 200 or 225 feet with a fade that arrives right on schedule, and more advanced players stretch that out past 300 feet and use it to work narrow, low gaps.
Want the same mold in a plastic that beats in faster and gets a little more understable? The Proton Crave is the next step down in stability. Like the look of a swirl? The Cosmic Neutron Crave flies just as straight in a different blend. Compare the whole family in the Crave collection.
