The Axiom Hex in Neutron plastic wears our Reaper Edition flame vortex stamp, and I recommend this stable midrange more than almost anything else in the shop when someone wants a first workhorse mid.

Neutron is Axiom's tackiest premium blend, grippy straight out of the wrapper and it stays that way through cold mornings and wet grass. It has a slight dome that softens with use, and unlike some premium plastics it does not lose stability fast, a well used Neutron Hex still holds its line years in.

Thrown flat it goes straight with a touch more glide than a Buzzz and a similarly short, dependable fade. It takes a hyzer and holds it rather than flipping over, so it is a strong choice for placement shots into tight fairways. New players get a forgiving midrange that does not punish a slightly off release, and experienced throwers use it as the disc they measure other stable midranges against. Good on approach shots from 200 to 250 feet where you want the disc to sit down instead of rolling away.
