Innova Star RocX3 (Reaper Edition)
The Innova Star RocX3 is the most overstable version of the Roc line, built with a low profile and a heftier rim than a standard Roc3. Star plastic gives it the grip and durability to handle the forehand power this disc is made for.
Flight Numbers: 5 / 4 / 0 / 3.5
Star plastic grips well in most conditions and takes a beating from the big, blunt nose without chunking, which matters since this disc gets thrown into wind and trees on purpose. It stays firmly overstable for a long time before easing into the more balanced flight players compare to a well broken in Roc3.
Thrown flat it flies fast with a low glide and a strong, dependable fade, landing with a bit of a ground skip rather than floating past the target. That makes it a good windy day midrange and a reliable forehand tool for players who want a disc that will not turn over no matter how hard they rip it. Backhand throwers get the same predictable fade.
Best for advanced players who want a diverse midrange profile in the bag or who want the eventual flight of a Roc3 in a disc that starts out already seasoned. Beginners will find the fade more than they need right away.
Want the standard Roc3 glide instead? The Star Rat is a flatter alternative for forehand shots. Compare it to the classic Discraft ESP Buzzz. See our overstable midranges.
Speed 5, glide 4, turn 0, fade 3.5. Diameter 21.8 cm, rim width 1.4 cm, max weight 180 g.
