Discraft Z Zombee
The Discraft Z Zombee is a stable fairway driver molded in Z plastic, sitting in the gap between a fast midrange and a true fairway driver, which is why Discraft built it for the 2012 Ace Race in the first place.
Flight Numbers: 6 / 4 / -1 / 1
Z is Discraft's hard, translucent plastic, slicker out of the box than ESP and a little less grippy until it picks up some wear. It is extremely durable and holds its flight numbers for a long time, which is why so many players keep an old Z disc in the bag as the one they trust most.
Thrown flat it holds a straight, tall flight and finishes with a predictable fade, closer to a cross between a Buzzz and a Stalker than a true driver. On a hyzer or anhyzer it responds cleanly to angle, which makes it a good disc for shaping shots around obstacles.
Good for beginners who want a driver that will not turn over unpredictably, and useful for more experienced players as a control option when a full-speed driver would overshoot the target. It is an easy disc to throw straight the first time you pick it up.
Want the same mold with more grip out of the box? The ESP Swirl Zombee softens up faster. Need extra durability for daily rounds? The Big Z Zombee runs thicker Z plastic. Browse the rest of our stable fairway drivers.
