Discraft ESP Swirl Zombee (Ledgestone)
The Discraft ESP Swirl Zombee is a hybrid midrange and fairway driver, a cross between a Buzzz and a Stalker that plays a bit like both. This is a limited Ledgestone run in ESP Swirl, and once it sells out this exact plastic will not come back.
Flight Numbers: 6 / 4 / -1 / 1
ESP Swirl brings Discraft's grippy premium feel with a swirl pattern that makes every disc one of a kind. It is durable enough to handle heavy use and holds its flight through plenty of rounds, so the tweener stability that makes this mold useful sticks around for years.
The deep rim gives it a different feel in the hand than a standard midrange, and the flight starts with a slight turn that settles into a gentle S curve before finishing straight. The glide is strong enough to out-drive some fairway drivers on a clean throw, and it holds sweeping hyzer lines, hyzer flips, and anhyzer shot shaping without much fuss, though it is not the best choice for fighting a strong headwind. It makes a great one disc round choice and an easy beginner's driver that bridges the gap between a midrange and a control driver, and forehand throwers in particular like how easily it shapes lines. More advanced arms sometimes find they reach for it less as their power grows, since it competes with both their midrange and fairway slots.
