The Axiom Fission Time Lapse is Simon Lizotte's overstable distance driver, the first ever 12 speed disc built with Axiom's GYRO overmold, now in the lightweight Fission plastic.

Fission's microbubble core keeps the Time Lapse light for a 12 speed driver without softening the flight. Fresh out of the box it holds a flight for a long time before it fades, and after a few months of play the turn opens up more than it did on day one, closer to a -2 than a -1. It stays beadless and comfortable through that whole break in period, with the double mold construction keeping the grip solid even as the plastic ages.
On a hyzer it does not flip up much, it just holds the angle and fades late. Thrown flat it turns over hard and covers real distance, which is where the extra glide and the GYRO band do their work. Release angle matters more on this disc than on most 12 speeds, so it rewards a big arm that can commit to a flat, fast release. Advanced throwers use it as the disc that carries the farthest in the bag; intermediate players who are still building power will get more out of it once their form catches up to a true 12 speed.
