Distance Drivers

A distance driver is the fastest, glidiest disc in the bag, built to cover the most ground off the tee before a fairway driver or midrange takes over for the approach. Speed ratings run from 9 up past 14, and the higher the number, the more arm speed it takes to make the disc do what the flight numbers promise.
Understable drivers turn over easily for beginners and slower arms working toward their first 300 foot throw. Stable drivers hold a straighter line for intermediate players who already have some snap in their release. Overstable drivers fight wind and hold a hyzer for advanced, big arm throwers, the class the Halo Star Destroyer and Calvin Heimburg Halo Destroyer both belong to.
Not sure which stability fits your arm yet? Start in understable distance drivers and work up to overstable distance drivers as your speed builds, or check stable distance drivers for a straight, dependable middle ground. Once the disc holds its line, a Mint Discs Apex Goat is a fun overstable option to try next.
