Axiom Neutron Fireball
The Axiom Neutron Fireball is a very overstable control driver built for headwinds and hard forehand flicks. Axiom describes it as a beat in Motion or a more overstable Tesla, and thrown side by side it holds up to that comparison.
Flight Numbers: 9 / 3.5 / 0 / 3.5
Neutron plastic here is grippy, durable, and shows off Axiom's full range of swirled colorways. It resists tree damage well and keeps a clean release in wet weather. Because it barely turns even in Neutron, the fade you get on day one does not soften up much over time, so this stays a workhorse disc long after softer plastics would have gone flippy.
No matter how much anhyzer you put on it, this disc fights back to a hard fade, which is exactly why it earns its name. On forehand throws it holds a straight, torque resistant line and then crashes left at the end, making it one of the more reliable headwind discs in the Axiom line. It is not a beginner disc, the fade shows up fast and needs some arm speed to look right, but for players who already throw overstable distance drivers it is a dependable fit anywhere between 50 and 80 meters where you need the disc to stop turning and start fading.
Bag it next to the Proton Fireball if you want the same overstable flight in a grippier translucent blend. Need slightly less beef for the same slot? The Fission Fireball beats in a little faster. Browse the rest of the Fireball collection.
