Discraft Z FLX Thrasher (Missy Gannon Tour Series)
The Discraft Z FLX Thrasher is Missy Gannon's 2024 Tour Series stamp on Discraft's understable workhorse, cast in translucent Jawbreaker-colored Z FLX. A portion of each sale goes toward Gannon's season on the Disc Golf Pro Tour.
Flight Numbers: 12 / 5 / -3 / 2
Z FLX gives up a little of standard Z's stiffness for more give in the hand, so it grips well straight out of the package and shrugs off a bad landing on pavement better than a harder blend would. This exact plastic flies more overstable than the numbers on the box suggest at first, closer to a stability rating of 1.0 than the Thrasher's usual 0.4, and it settles into the advertised flip only after a season of throws.
Thrown flat with any real power it holds a flat profile before turning over and gliding a long way past where slower discs would fade out, which makes it a natural for tailwind bombs and turnover shots. It is not flippy in the way some understable drivers are, so big arms can still rip it without losing the disc to a roller. Forehand throwers get a clean release off the shallower rim, and it is a strong pick for anyone still building the arm speed for a max distance driver.
