Discmania was founded in 2006 by CEO Jussi Meresmaa in Tampere, Finland. The international company currently has offices in Sweden and the US and has been noticed for its expansive growth through partnerships with multiple international major disc manufacturers like Innova, Latitude 64, and Yikun.
The three lines from Discmania are Discmania Originals, Evolution, and Active. They have plenty of plastic offerings as well,
Discmania Originals (manufactured by Innova in California) was launched in 2006 and is considered their heritage collection. The line features popular discs such as the P2, PD, and the FD, and has options to fit every slot that a player might be looking for.
Discmania Evolution (manufactured by Lat 64 in Sweden) came onto the scene in 2019 with a vision to combine industry-leading design and technology. The Evolution Primal Runs include discs in black Exo plastic, and orange Neo and Lux plastics all stamped with a special “Evolution” stamp.
Discmania Active (manufactured by Yikun in China) is considered the most economically friendly line, but includes both a baseline and premium plastic offering for their discs!
Discmania Originals Plastics:
P-line: Added glide gives this blend a bit more understability compared to C and S-line plastics. There are two putters that have their own unique blend of plastic: P-line P1 discs will have a soft and grippy blend, and P-line P2 discs will have a firmer plastic.
S-line: For all-weather play, you can rely on S-line plastics to give you an unbeatable grip. This blend is a great choice for drivers.
G-line: Modified from the S-line base, this flexible plastic will have more glide and good shock absorbing qualities with a unique look.
C-line: Formulated with a stiff and durable Italian plastic blend, C-line will give your discs a strong glide with a nice, grippy hand feel. It beats in slowly over time, making it a great choice for wooded courses. C-line plastic also tends to be the most stable blend.
Blizzard C-line: Looking for a lighter-weight disc? This C-line blend has tons of tiny air bubbles inside the rim of the disc, giving you the potential for more distance. Do bear in mind though, lighter discs don’t fare as well against trees.
X-line: X-line plastic is a must-have for wet and cold conditions. With an organic texture, this plastic won’t feel slick even in the rain.
D-line: This line features a new innovative texture to give discs a strong grip on all available baseline plastics. It’s priced affordably and is a great choice for putters.
Glow C-line: This is a specialty glow-in-the-dark plastic that is currently reserved for fundraising projects.
Metal Flake C-Line: This shimmery blend is as eyecatching as it is fun to play with. It will feel just like the standard C-line plastic.
Luster C-Line: With the same durability as C-line, Luster has a pearlescent sheen with potential for some trippy color bursts in the center of the plate.
Shimmer S-Line: S-Line gets the metallic makeover, but has the same great S-line features.
Swirl S-Line: Some of the most gorgeous looking and coveted discs out there, Swirl S-Line plastic has the same consistent features of S-line but just looks incredible.
Discmania Evolution Plastics:
Exo (Hard): Hard Exo has a similar rigid feel to the X-line plastic with its slightly rubbery texture. It’s been described as having a unique feel, almost akin to velvet. Hard Exo is a very popular choice for cold or rainy weather.
Exo (Soft): This grippy plastic has good flexibility and the same amount of stiffness that the D-line provides. Exo Soft is the most wallet-friendly plastic option from the Evolution line.
Neo: This premium plastic is semi-translucent, durable, and rigid with just a little hint of flex. Evolution discs tend to run overstable in Neo plastic.
Lux: Lux is a solid plastic that will afford players good grip in all playing conditions. It beats in relatively slowly and is very durable.
Forge: A specialty plastic, Forge is semi-translucent like Neo but made with a metallic additive.
Discmania Active Plastics:
Active (Premium): This translucent plastic is gorgeous and vivid, and will give discs some overstability. It’s a blend that is relatively stiff and has been described as similar to Innova’s Champion plastic due to the amount of durability it has. Premium discs will come in pink, blue, and yellow.
Active (Baseline): Don’t be fooled, just because this baseline plastic is super affordable, it doesn’t sacrifice any quality. Active baseline plastic has good, firm grippiness and feels nice in the hand, without yielding too much.
