Prodigy Air X3
The Prodigy Air X3 is a stable distance driver built in Prodigy's lightweight AIR plastic. It is the middle child of Prodigy's X series, less overstable than the X2 and more dependable in wind than the X4, aimed at players who want long, straight distance without fighting the disc.
Flight Numbers: 12 / 5 / -1 / 2
AIR trims weight off Prodigy's standard blend while keeping the same Easy Release rim, which makes the disc easier to get up to full speed for players without a huge arm. It grips solidly out of the box and flies true to the numbers from the first throw, though like any Prodigy plastic it will soften and turn a touch more understable as it beats in over time.
Thrown flat with real speed it holds a long, gliding middle flight with barely any turn, then finishes with a controlled fade. On a hyzer it stays locked on line, and into a headwind it does not fold the way flippier 12 speed drivers do. That combination of glide and a mild fade is what gives it more total distance than the X2 without losing the fade you need to finish a hole.
Advanced players use it as a dependable max distance driver on open holes, and it is not the friendliest first driver since a 12 speed rim needs real arm speed to unlock the glide. Backhand and forehand throwers both get consistent results once they have the power to open it up.
