MVP Neutron Impulse
4
The MVP Impulse in Neutron plastic is an understable distance driver built to extend the range of MVP's own Switch, with a moderate 2 cm rim that suits smaller hands.
Flight Numbers: 9 / 5 / -3 / 1
Neutron grips well and takes a beating without cracking, and MVP's gyro overmold rim needs real wrist snap to spin up and fly the way the numbers promise. Without that snap the Impulse can feel more overstable than advertised; with a lot of snap it turns over easily and holds that turn for a long time.
Thrown flat with good spin it turns over and glides for a long, gentle finish before a soft fade, and on a hyzer it can flip all the way over into a roller depending on how much power goes into it. Into a headwind it tends to flip past flat and spike or roll rather than fight back, so this is not the disc for a big headwind hole.
Good for a beginner or slower arm who needs the disc to do the turning, and a useful tailwind utility driver once a bigger arm has built up the snap to control it.
Want something more predictable into the wind? The Discraft ESP Heat flips over with less effort needed. Want more overstability in the same speed class? The Innova Star Destroyer is worth bagging next to it. See the rest of our understable distance drivers.
Speed 9, glide 5, turn -3, fade 1. Diameter 21.1 cm, rim width 2.0 cm, max weight 174 g.
