Kastaplast K1 Grym
3
The Kastaplast K1 Grym is a stable distance driver built for long, crushing drives down open fairways. K1 plastic gives it the grip and durability Kastaplast built its reputation on, in a driver that a moderate arm can actually shape.
Flight Numbers: 13 / 5 / -2 / 2
K1 is tacky straight out of the wrapper and stays that way through a sweaty back nine, without going soft or slick the way some premium plastics do after a season. It's durable enough to take repeated tree hits and pavement skips, and the beadless rim keeps the release clean on both backhand and forehand.
This is an easy driver to get to do what you want. Thrown flat it turns moderately before settling into a long glide, and released on a hyzer it becomes a big, beautiful S-shaped flight across wide open holes. It handles tailwinds well but isn't the disc to reach for in a stiff headwind or heavy crosswind, where the turn will get exaggerated.
Intermediate players who don't have the arm speed for an overstable driver yet get real, usable distance out of this one, and it's forgiving enough to shape into a variety of lines while you're still building form. Advanced players use it as a dependable hyzer flip machine on tailwind holes.
Want more overstability for windy days? The Kastaplast K1 Grym X is the harder-fading version of the same mold. Need a fairway option in the same K1 plastic? The Kastaplast K1 Glow Falk pairs well with it. See our Grym collection.
