Innova Star Metal Warrior Mid Disc3
2
The Innova Star Metal Warrior Mid Disc3 is an overstable midrange that started life as part of Discmania's old Originals line before Innova took over the mold. It's basically a slightly more overstable take on the C-Line MD3, and Star plastic gives it Innova's usual grip and durability.
Flight Numbers: 5 / 5 / 0 / 2
Star out of the box feels firm and a little slick, then it breaks in gradually into a grippier, slightly flippier disc than it starts as. That beat-in process is part of the appeal here, the added stability up front fights wind well without being too much disc for a newer player to handle once it settles in.
Thrown flat it holds a stable, mostly straight line before fading left at the end, and on a hyzer it fights back against turning over even under real power. It's comfortable throwing under 275 feet as a driver replacement, and just as useful stretched out as a long approach disc when you need to cover ground and still stop.
I reach for this one on turnover forehand shots and on RHBH lines where I need moderate, reliable fade rather than a hard wall. It fits sidearm releases especially well, and it's a solid pick for someone who wants one midrange that covers both driving and upshot duty without switching discs.
If your misses are usually short, the extra glide here helps close that gap without giving up the fade. Want a straighter comparison from another brand? The Discraft ESP Buzzz trades some overstability for a flatter flight, and the Axiom Neutron Hex gives you more glide in a similar speed. Shop our overstable midrange discs.
