Innova GStar Tern (Reaper Edition)
3
The Innova Tern in GStar plastic carries a Reaper stamp on an understable high speed driver with more glide than almost anything else Innova makes. GStar adds flex, extra grip, and a pearlescent shine to a mold that already gives intermediate players max distance without pro level power. The wide 2.3 cm rim feels like a true distance driver in the hand, though the flight is far more forgiving than the speed suggests.
Flight Numbers: 12 / 6 / -2 / 2
GStar is flexible and grippy, and on the Tern it runs a little stiffer and more domey than the flatter, gummier Champion runs, which keeps the turn a bit more controlled fresh out of the package. As it beats in, expect the turn to open up further, since Terns get more understable with wear, not less. GStar is a good middle plastic if you want a Tern that stays workable for a long stretch before it gets too flippy to trust.
Thrown flat it holds a huge, glidey line before a gentle fade closes it out, and I have watched newer players hit their first 300 foot drive with this kind of disc. On a hyzer it flips to flat and rides out for tailwind bombs, and it holds an anhyzer turnover line to the ground for skip shots and s-curves through the woods. It is a natural first high speed driver moving up from DX or Pro plastics.
Want less turn out of the same speed? The Champion Glow Tern stiffens up for a more controlled flight. Prefer a signature run of the same mold? The Star Tern is the one to grab. Browse our Tern lineup.
