Innova Champion Hawkeye
1
The Innova Champion Hawkeye is a straight flying control driver built for threading tunnel shots and low ceiling lines rather than bombing wide open holes. It is a manageable speed fairway driver with real glide built in.
Flight Numbers: 7 / 5 / -1 / 1
Champion is Innova's stiff, translucent premium blend, and the Hawkeye in Champion or Star both tracks true to its numbers, flying a touch more overstable than printed once it starts breaking in. It handles cold and wet weather well and resists nicks better than the softer GStar line.
It compares to an upgraded Leopard, a good match for a Latitude 64 River, and it excels at holding dead straight lines through tight tree gaps and low canopies where turnover discs would flip too much. With more power behind a hyzer release it can turn and glide out to real distance, and it consistently outperforms a Star Leopard3 in a head to head comparison. It is not the best first driver for a complete beginner since it needs a bit of arm speed to manage, but a strong step up disc once you have some control.
