Elevation ecoFLEX Gecko
2
The Elevation ecoFLEX Gecko is an overstable control driver made from Elevation's bendable ecoFLEX rubber blend instead of standard plastic. Elevation built the Gecko to cut down on ground play, so the disc pops back up off a hyzer drive instead of skipping and rolling away. It sits between a stable and a truly overstable 9 speed.
Flight Numbers: 9 / 4 / 0 / 3.5
ecoFLEX is grippy and stays tacky in cold or wet weather, and it has real give in the rim instead of a stiff flight plate. That flex is what removes the ground play, the disc jumps up almost immediately off a hyzer release instead of skating along the fairway. It shrugs off tree hits and pavement scuffs without denting, though the stamp does wear a little faster than it would on a firmer plastic.
Thrown flat with speed it holds its line and fights off high speed turn even for a big arm, then finishes with a hard, dependable fade instead of dumping early. On anhyzer it holds that angle with confidence for most of the flight, which is useful on tight, tree-lined fairways. It flies close to a Firebird or a Raptor with a touch less glide, and forehand throwers get a clean release out of it too. Intermediate and advanced players get the most out of the flex; slower arms may not have the speed to unlock it fully.
