Discraft Z Lite Thrasher
1
The Discraft Z Lite Thrasher takes Discraft's fast, understable workhorse and drops the weight, so the same shape that flips flat for a big arm gets there even easier for a player still building speed. Z Lite is a lighter cut of the standard Z blend, and it puts this driver within reach for beginners at a lower price than the tour series runs.
Flight Numbers: 12 / 5 / -3 / 2
Z Lite trims material out of the standard Z formula to cut weight, which means it is not quite as scuff resistant as a full weight Z disc, but it keeps enough of that firm, grippy feel to hold up through normal play. Because it is lighter, it turns over sooner in the flight, which is exactly what a slower arm needs to get this mold to fly the S-curve it is known for.
Thrown flat with moderate power it flips up and rides flat before a light fade, and a stronger arm can push it into a full turnover for a roller. It is not flippy in a way that punishes a bad release, so it stays workable even when the throw is not perfect. This is a strong pick for a newer player's first real distance driver, or for anyone who wants a Thrasher without paying for a tour series stamp.
