Discraft Z Line Fly Dye Zone
The Discraft Z Line Fly Dye Zone is an overstable approach putter, one of the most trusted molds Discraft makes, here dyed in a one-of-a-kind Fly Dye run over hard, translucent Z plastic.
Flight Numbers: 4 / 3 / 0 / 3
Z plastic is stiff and slick when new, and it takes a while to break in compared to ESP, but it is extremely durable and holds this disc's heavy fade for a long life in the bag. The 1.2 cm rim gives you plenty to grip on a hard flick release, which is where the Zone earns its reputation.
Thrown flat it holds a short, straight line before fading hard left at the end, which is exactly what you want on a headwind upshot or a flick approach where you cannot afford the disc to turn over. It does not skip through the fade the way a less overstable putter can.
Good for intermediate and advanced players who need a putter that can absorb the torque of a sidearm release without flying away from the target. It is not the easiest first putter, since the fade is more than a beginner typically needs inside the circle.
Want the same mold in a grippier, softer plastic? The ESP Zone is the version most bags carry. Need maximum durability for daily play? The Titanium Zone holds up to years of flick putts. Browse the rest of our overstable putters.
