Discmania Horizon MD1
9
The Discmania Horizon MD1 is a stable midrange built to fly dead straight, and Horizon is the eye-popping plastic Discmania uses to make it stand out in the bag as much as it flies. It is a flatter, faster reinvention of the original MD, built to take more power without losing that straight mid-range flight.
Flight Numbers: 5 / 6 / 0 / 0
Horizon is part of Discmania's S-Line family, grippy in cold and wet rounds, and it holds a run for a long time before it beats in. The colors run bright and glossy, easy to spot in the rough. It stays flatter than a domed midrange, so the flight plate feels shallow even though the rim gives it real depth.
Thrown flat it holds dead straight with almost no drift, and on a hyzer it stays right on that line the whole way down. Put it on anhyzer and it pans smoothly without turning into a roller, the shot this disc handles best. It is not built for a stiff headwind, but in calm air or a tailwind there is not a straighter mid-range on the shelf.
New players learn a clean release from it, and intermediate and advanced throwers use it as the disc other midranges get measured against, since it barely burns over under real power.
