Discmania Grateful Dead Metal Flake C-Line MD3 (Bear)
2
The Discmania MD3 in Metal Flake C-Line plastic carries a Grateful Dead dancing bear stamp, and this stable midrange has replaced a lot of Roc3s in people's bags, including mine.
Flight Numbers: 5 / 5 / 0 / 1
Metal Flake C-Line mixes small metallic flecks through Discmania's standard grippy blend, so it looks different from a plain C-Line MD3 but throws the same. It grips well cold and beats in at a normal pace, holding its stability rather than turning over fast.
Thrown flat it holds a straight line and finishes with a soft, controlled fade, and on approach shots it hits and sticks close to where you aim rather than skipping through the green. It is comfortable for both backhand and forehand releases, which is part of why my box of Roc3s does not get thrown much anymore. New players get a midrange that will not surprise them, and better players use it for upshots inside 250 feet where accuracy matters more than distance.
Want the same mold without the metal flake? The C-Line MD3 is the standard version. Prefer a firmer premium blend? Try the S-Line MD3. Browse the whole lineup in MD3.
