It takes longer to beat in than a premium plastic, so a Royal Firm UFO stays close to its stable, out-of-the-box flight for a long stretch of rounds, and it shrugs off tree hits and pavement skips without chunking.

Thrown flat, the UFO holds a straight line and settles into a light, predictable fade instead of skipping past the basket. On a hyzer it stays on hyzer, which makes it dependable for spike putts on sloped greens. It is a good choice for a newer player still learning release angles, since the beaded rim gives an extra grip reference, and it works just as well on forehand approach shots as it does backhand.
