Mint Discs Royal Firm UFO (Royal Alpha)
The Mint Discs UFO in Royal Firm plastic, stamped with the Royal Alpha design, is a beaded putter built to bridge the gap between Mint’s Profit and Bullet. The rounded nose and small bead give it a stable, forgiving disc for putting and short approach shots. Mint built the UFO for the inside-40-feet game where control matters more than distance.
Flight Numbers: 2 / 3 / 0 / 1
Royal Firm is Mint’s midgrade blend, firmer in the hand than the Sublime or Eternal runs of this mold and grippy enough to hold up on cold mornings. It takes longer to beat in than a premium plastic, so a Royal Firm UFO stays close to its stable, out-of-the-box flight for a long stretch of rounds, and it shrugs off tree hits and pavement skips without chunking.
Thrown flat, the UFO holds a straight line and settles into a light, predictable fade instead of skipping past the basket. On a hyzer it stays on hyzer, which makes it dependable for spike putts on sloped greens. It is a good choice for a newer player still learning release angles, since the beaded rim gives an extra grip reference, and it works just as well on forehand approach shots as it does backhand.
Want a deeper, glidier putter instead? The Kastaplast K1 Berg trades the UFO’s rounded nose for a low glide, thumb track rim that stops fast. Need an overstable approach disc with more speed for longer upshots? The Discraft ESP Zone is the usual answer. See the rest of our stable putters.
