MVP Fission Wave (Reaper Edition)
4
The MVP Fission Wave in Reaper Edition carries our custom flame vortex logo stamped on Fission, MVP's grippy, flippier take on their Wave mold. The Wave itself is a wide rimmed distance driver, MVP's faster, longer running answer to their Inertia.
Flight Numbers: 11 / 5 / -2 / 2
Fission is noticeably flippier in the hand than MVP's Neutron or Proton blends, closer to their Electron line than anything else they make. It feels heavier than it actually is thanks to MVP's overmold tech, and it takes real trust to fly right: throw it flat and it wants to turn hard before it fades back, so I lean on a hyzer flip release to get the flatter, more controlled line I actually want.
At full power this driver holds a long, gliding turn and does not fully come back until late in the flight, which is exactly why slower arms find their first 300 foot drive with a lighter weight Fission Wave. Bigger arms get long, gliding turnovers and hyzer flips instead, since a flat release at full speed just keeps carrying right. It handles a stiff headwind better than most flippy drivers its speed, staying on line instead of getting knocked down.
Good for newer players building distance and for anyone who wants a forehand hyzer flip disc with real pop. Power throwers should expect to fight the turn on a flat release and plan around it rather than against it.
Want the same mold in a more predictable, less flippy plastic? The Neutron Wave holds its line with less trust required. Looking for even more overstability once you add arm speed? The Proton Wave is the stiffer option. See every version in MVP Wave.
