MVP Fission Wave
14
The MVP Wave in Fission plastic is a stable distance driver with a wide, thin rim, and it flies like a longer, glidier version of MVP's own Inertia.
Flight Numbers: 11 / 5 / -2 / 2
Fission grips well in most weather and takes hits fine, but it beats in a little faster than Neutron, so a used Fission Wave turns over more readily than a fresh one. Lighter Fission Waves in the 150s fly noticeably flippier and open up more on a big throw.
On a flat, full-power release it opens into a long turn before slowly settling into its fade, and a hyzer flip tightens that same turn into a controllable s-line. It makes a great low-ceiling roller and a natural forehand disc, and it is a solid first distance driver for a beginner willing to put in some field time to learn the flip.
It does not fight wind as hard as some drivers, so I save it for calmer rounds rather than a big headwind hole.
Want less turn out of the same shape? The MVP Neutron Wave is more forgiving for a slower arm. Want the most durable version instead? The MVP Proton Wave holds its stability the longest. Browse the rest of our stable distance drivers.
