Star grips well immediately and beats in at a moderate pace, quicker than Champion but slower than base plastics. New, it holds a strong overstable fade and will fade hard if you throw it up in the air, so nose angle matters more here than on most putters, especially in wind. As it wears it straightens out and picks up a little extra glide while losing some of that early overstability.
This disc barely glides, so a flat release drops fast with a firm fade, which is exactly what you want on a short upshot where overshooting the basket is the real risk. On a hyzer it holds that line to the ground, and into a headwind it will not turn over. Forehand and backhand throwers both trust it for approach shots inside 175 feet, and it often gets thrown more than a dedicated putter.
