The Prodigy Air Spectrum FX-2 is an overstable control driver made from Prodigy's lightweight AIR plastic, with swirly Spectrum colors mixed through the blend. It sits between Prodigy's F and H series, a faster fairway driver with a straight, dependable finish.

AIR plastic trims real weight off the disc without changing the flight numbers, so a slower arm gets the same reach a heavier 500 or 750 plastic copy gives a bigger arm. It grips well for a premium blend and does not feel especially domey out of the box, though I always run a finger along the inner rim before the first throw since a few AIR Spectrum copies come off the mold with a sharp edge that is worth a quick pass with sandpaper.

Thrown flat this driver holds a long, straight push before a medium, controlled fade at the finish, closer to a Firebird than a flippy fairway disc. On forehand it likes a touch of hyzer rather than a flat or anhyzer release, and it holds up well into a headwind without turning over.

Good for players who already trust an overstable fairway driver and want the same flight at a lighter weight for easier distance. New players get a forgiving disc that will not flip and burn even with a rough release, and forehand throwers get a mold that fights out of tough angles instead of rolling over.
