Innova Star Wombat3 (Reaper Edition)
The Innova Star Wombat3, in our Reaper stamped run, is the midrange I hand to anyone who keeps watching their throws hook hard left before finishing straight. It carries almost no fade at all, which fixes that problem more directly than any amount of coaching.
Flight Numbers: 5 / 6 / -1 / 0
Star gives the beaded Wombat3 real durability and a comfortable grip, standing up to the extra torque the bead is built to resist. It has noticeably more glide than most midranges at this speed, closer to a fairway driver in how far it carries once it's up in the air.
Thrown with a touch of hyzer it flips up to flat and rides essentially straight the whole way, with barely a hint of fade at the finish. Give it more hyzer or anhyzer and it holds that angle for a long, drifting flight rather than fighting back to center. It's the disc I reach for on single obstacle holes and tight window shots where I need a specific line held, and it's just as useful thrown nose up on a steep uphill approach. Newer players fighting a nose up, left fading flight on other discs often find this is the mold that finally clicks.
Bag it next to the DX Wombat3 for a cheaper, faster breaking version of the same idea. Want more durability for the same flight? The Halo Star Wombat3 holds up longer under regular use. See the rest of our understable midranges.
