Innova Star Boss (Reaper Edition)
The Innova Star Boss, in our Reaper stamped run, was the first speed 13 driver Innova ever released, and it's still one of the fastest overstable options in the catalog. The Boss family holds the current world distance record, though that record throw was in a lighter, more flexible plastic than the one here.
Flight Numbers: 13 / 5 / -1 / 3
Star gives it Innova's usual premium grip and a rim that holds up to a lot of abuse before the stability starts to drop. It's grippier than the Blizzard runs of this mold and more consistent from disc to disc than DX, though it takes real speed to get the most out of it. The rim runs 2.5 cm deep and needs a full wrap to control.
It takes genuine arm speed to fly right, thrown by a slower arm it just fades early and comes up short. Once you can reliably put a Destroyer into full flight, the Boss is the disc that keeps going after the Destroyer starts to fade, with a long, gliding turn before a strong finish. It's a good bag upgrade for a player whose distance has grown past their current top end driver, and a strong choice into headwinds where lighter, faster discs get pushed off line.
If your misses are usually short of the fairway, this isn't your first driver, work up to it. Want the same speed with a bit more overstability out of the box? The Champion Boss is the firmer option. Prefer a shimmer finish with extra durability? The Halo Star Boss is the same flight dressed up. Browse our overstable distance drivers.
