The Innova Halo Star Sidewinder, in our Reaper stamped run, turns over faster than expected the first time you throw one. That's the whole point of the mold, and it's why it ends up as a rescue disc for tight spots almost as often as it's a driver.

Halo Star adds a shimmer finish over Innova's regular Star blend along with a small bump in durability. It's grippy in cold and wet conditions and takes longer to go soft than DX, which matters on a mold that's worth intentionally beating in for even more turnover. The 1.8 cm rim is comfortable for most hand sizes without feeling bulky.

On a downhill or fairway that bends, it rides the turn beautifully and settles into a controlled fade right where you want it, which is exactly the shot that makes this such a good learning tool. Rip it at full power on an anhyzer and it will hold that turn most of the way before finishing right, sometimes with barely any fade left at all, so dial back the power if you need it to come home. It's one of the friendliest first drivers a beginner can throw, and I still reach for one on holes where I need a guaranteed S-curve rather than a straight bomb.
