Innova Halo Star Thunderbird (Factory Second)
3
This Innova Thunderbird in Halo Star plastic is a factory second: the same speed 9 overstable control driver Innova sells at full price, pulled aside for a cosmetic flaw like an ink spot or a small divot on the rim that has no effect on how it flies.
Flight Numbers: 9 / 5 / 0 / 2
Halo Star is Innova's premium blend with a frosted, semi-translucent look and excellent grip in wet or cold conditions. It holds its overstable flight for years without turning neutral, and the factory second flaw is purely cosmetic. This is how the disc leaves Innova's factory, and it is the only reason it costs less.
Thrown flat it holds a straight, high-speed line with very little turn before finishing with a controlled fade, and on a hyzer it stays true the whole way down. Some call it a more stable TeeBird, and that comparison holds up: same reliability, a bit more speed. It handles both forehand and backhand throws well and does not turn over on you in the wind, which makes it a workhorse fairway driver for players of any level once they can handle a speed 9 disc.
