Discraft Z Fly Dye Anax
The Discraft Anax in Z Fly Dye plastic is Paul McBeth's speed 10 fairway power driver, built to fight the wind and hold a straight line down the fairway before a clean fade at the end.
Flight Numbers: 10 / 6 / 0 / 3
Z Fly Dye takes Discraft's Elite Z blend and runs each disc through an individual dye process, so the swirled color pattern is one of a kind while the plastic's grip and durability match standard Z exactly. It holds its overstable flight for years and grips well in wet conditions.
Field tests against a Thunderbird put the Anax a touch faster with similar glide, and that tracks with how it flies here: flat releases hold their line further than most speed 10 drivers before the fade takes over, and on a hyzer it stays put the whole way. Slower arm speeds get a shorter, more reliable fairway shot out of it, while big arms turn it into a legitimate distance driver. I moved a lot of my forehand bag over to the Anax after wrist issues made wider-rimmed drivers uncomfortable, and the control here made that swap easy.
Need a driver with more glide at speed 10? The ESP Anax flies the same numbers with a softer grip. Want a heavier, longer-lasting build? The Big Z Anax holds its fade the longest of the bunch. Browse the rest of the Anax collection.
